Bread
  • 8 ounces French bread (about ½ loaf), cut into cubes
Eggs
  • 5 large large eggs
Milk
  • 2 cups whole milk
Butter
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
Brown Sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
Vanilla Extract
  • 2 ½ teaspoons vanilla extract
Ground Cinnamon
  • 3 teaspoons ground cinnamon, divided
Brown Sugar (Topping)
  • 1 ½ tablespoons brown sugar for topping
Optional Toppings

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Create a caramelized layer with butter, brown sugar, vanilla, and cinnamon.
  3. Layer bread cubes over the caramelized mixture.
  4. Mix eggs with milk, remaining cinnamon, and pour over bread.
  5. Add topping sugar and bake for 45 minutes. Serve with optional toppings.
