Ingredients
  

Dough
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Dry ingredients
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
Add-ins
  • 2 cups rolled oats
  • 1 cup m&m's (red and green for christmas)
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Cream butter and sugars, then add eggs and vanilla.
  2. Mix in dry ingredients, then fold in oats, M&M's, chocolate chips, and nuts.
  3. Scoop dough onto baking sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are golden.
  4. Cool cookies on sheet briefly, then transfer to wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For softer cookies, slightly underbake and let sit for a few minutes before transferring.
