Ingredients
  

Dough
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
Filling
  • 1/2 cup jam or preserves (red or green for christmas theme)
  • powdered sugar for dusting powdered sugar (optional) for dusting

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cream butter and sugar until fluffy, add vanilla, then mix in flour and salt.
  3. Form dough into 1-inch balls, make an indent, fill with jam.
  4. Bake for 12-15 minutes until edges are golden. Cool and dust with powdered sugar if desired.

Notes

Use red or green jam for a festive look.
