  • 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
Wet Ingredients
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 egg egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon almond extract
Coloring & Decorations
  • green food coloring

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Mix dry ingredients; cream butter and sugar, then add egg and extracts.
  3. Add green food coloring, chill dough, then roll out and cut into tree shapes.
  4. Bake for 8-10 minutes until edges are golden. Cool completely.
  5. Decorate with royal icing and sprinkles.

Notes

Chill the dough for easier handling and better shape retention.
