  • 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
Wet ingredients
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 1/2 cups white sugar
  • 1 egg egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon almond extract
  • 3 to 4 tablespoons milk adjust for desired consistency

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Mix dry ingredients; cream butter and sugar. Add egg, vanilla, and almond extracts. Blend in dry ingredients, then add milk and food coloring. Roll out dough, cut into trees, and bake for 8-10 minutes.

Notes

Chill dough if too soft for easier cutting.
