Method
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Mix heavy cream, milk, garlic, salt, pepper, and nutmeg.
- Layer potatoes in a greased dish, pour half of the cream mixture, and sprinkle half of the cheese. Repeat.
- Dot with butter, cover with foil, and bake 45 minutes.
- Remove foil, bake 15-20 minutes until golden, then garnish with parsley.
Notes
For a richer flavor, use aged Gruyère cheese.
