- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Cook fig filling: combine figs, walnuts, 1 cup sugar, cinnamon, vanilla, and lemon juice; simmer until thickened, then cool.
- Make dough: mix flour, baking powder, salt; cream butter and sugar; add egg and milk.
- Assemble cookies: roll dough into rectangles, add filling, fold, and seal edges.
- Bake on parchment-lined sheet at 350°F for 15-20 minutes until golden. Cool and dust with powdered sugar.
