Ingredients
  

Meat and Sauerkraut
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 cup sauerkraut, drained
  • 1 can (15 oz) sauerkraut, drained
  • 1 can (15 oz) sauerkraut, drained
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 4 large potatoes, peeled and diced
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • Salt and pepper to taste Salt and pepper
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Method
 

  1. Heat olive oil in a skillet, sauté onion and garlic until soft.
  2. Add ground beef, cook until browned, then stir in paprika, salt, and pepper.
  3. Mix in sauerkraut and beef broth, simmer for 10 minutes.
  4. Boil diced potatoes until tender, drain, then mash with butter, salt, and pepper.
  5. Layer beef mixture and mashed potatoes in a baking dish, top with cheese, and bake at 375°F for 20-25 minutes.

Notes

For a richer flavor, let the dish rest for a few minutes before serving.
