Ingredients
  

Canned Yams
  • 2 cans canned yams 15 oz each, drained
  • 0.5 cup brown sugar
  • 0.25 cup milk
  • 0.5 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 0.5 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 0.25 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 cup mini marshmallows
  • 0.5 cup chopped pecans optional

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Mash drained yams until smooth, then mix in sugar, milk, vanilla, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  3. Spread mixture in a greased 9x13 inch dish, top with marshmallows and pecans if using.
  4. Bake for 25-30 minutes until marshmallows are golden.
  5. Let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

For extra flavor, add a pinch of salt or a drizzle of honey before baking.
