  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup crushed peppermint candies
  • 1/2 teaspoon peppermint extract

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheet with parchment.
  2. Cream butter, sugars until fluffy. Mix in eggs and vanilla.
  3. Whisk flour, cocoa, baking soda, salt; combine with wet ingredients.
  4. Fold in chocolate chips, peppermint candies, and extract.
  5. Drop dough onto baking sheet; bake 10-12 mins. Cool before serving.

Notes

For extra peppermint flavor, sprinkle crushed candies on top before baking.
