  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup molasses
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup powdered sugar for rolling

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Mix dry ingredients in a bowl.
  3. Cream butter and sugar, add molasses, egg, vanilla.
  4. Combine wet and dry, chill dough 30 mins.
  5. Shape dough, coat in powdered sugar, bake 10-12 mins.
