Ingredients
  

Pumpkin and Dairy
  • 1 can (15 oz) pumpkin puree
  • 1 can (12 oz) evaporated milk
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
Cake and Topping
  • 1 box (15.25 oz) yellow cake mix
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup chopped pecans (optional) optional

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Mix pumpkin, milk, eggs, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt until smooth.
  3. Pour into a greased 9x13 inch dish and sprinkle cake mix on top.
  4. Drizzle melted butter over the cake mix and add pecans if desired.
  5. Bake for 50-60 minutes until golden and set. Cool slightly before serving.
