Method
- Cream the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy, then mix in the egg and extracts.
- Whisk dry ingredients separately, then gradually add to wet ingredients to form a dough. Chill for at least 1 hour.
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Roll out dough, cut into pumpkin shapes, and bake for 8-10 minutes. Cool completely.
- Mix powdered sugar, meringue powder, and warm water to make royal icing. Divide and color with food gels.
- Pipe orange outline and flood with orange icing. Once set, pipe pumpkin ridges and green stems. Let dry overnight.

Chill the dough thoroughly for clean cuts and decorate once the icing is fully dry.
