Method
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Mix dry ingredients in a bowl.
- Cream butter and sugar until fluffy. Add egg, food coloring, vanilla; mix well.
- Gradually add dry ingredients; chill dough 30 minutes.
- Shape dough into balls, coat in powdered sugar, place on baking sheet.
- Bake 10-12 minutes; cool before serving.

Chilling the dough helps achieve better crinkle effects.
