Ingredients
  

Pumpkin and Eggs
  • 1 can pumpkin puree 15 oz can
  • 1 can evaporated milk 12 oz can
  • 3 large eggs
Spices and Salt
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
Cake and Butter
  • 1 box yellow cake mix 15.25 oz box
  • 1 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1 cup chopped pecans or walnuts optional

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Mix pumpkin, evaporated milk, eggs, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt until smooth.
  3. Pour into a greased 9x13 inch baking dish and sprinkle cake mix on top.
  4. Drizzle melted butter over the cake mix and sprinkle nuts if using.
  5. Bake for 50-60 minutes until golden and a toothpick comes out clean. Cool slightly before serving.
