Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
Wet ingredients
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
Add-ins
  • 2 cups chocolate chips
  • 1 cup festive sprinkles (optional)

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Mix dry ingredients; set aside.
  2. Cream butter and sugars; add vanilla and eggs.
  3. Gradually combine dry and wet ingredients; fold in chocolate chips and sprinkles.
  4. Scoop dough onto baking sheets; bake for 10-12 minutes.
  5. Cool cookies on racks before serving.

Notes

For softer cookies, slightly underbake and let cool on the baking sheet.
