Ingredients
  

Dough
  • 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 1/2 cups white sugar
  • 1 egg egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar for dusting (optional)

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Mix dry ingredients.
  2. Cream butter and sugar, then add egg and extracts.
  3. Combine dry and wet ingredients. Scoop onto baking sheet.
  4. Bake 8-10 minutes until edges are golden. Cool and dust with powdered sugar.

Notes

For softer cookies, do not overbake.
