Method
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Boil sweet potatoes until tender, then mash.
- Mix mashed sweet potatoes with sugar, milk, melted butter, vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
- Spread mixture in a greased 9x13 inch dish. Prepare pecan topping by mixing pecans, brown sugar, and melted butter.
- Sprinkle pecan topping over the sweet potato layer. Add marshmallows if desired.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden. Let cool slightly before serving.
Notes
For extra crunch, toast the pecans before adding.
