Method
- Combine sugar, corn syrup, and water; heat until sugar dissolves.
- Bring to 300°F (hard crack stage) without stirring.
- Remove from heat, stir in peppermint extract and red food coloring.
- Pour into molds, filling three-quarters full; cool for 30 minutes.
- Remove from molds, dust with powdered sugar, and enjoy.
Notes
Use a candy thermometer for best results and work quickly when pouring the hot mixture.
