Ingredients
  

Dough
  • 200 g unsalted butter, softened
  • 100 g granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg yolk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 300 g all-purpose flour
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
Optional
  • powdered sugar for dusting for dusting (optional)

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F) and line a baking sheet.
  2. Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add egg yolk and vanilla, mix well.
  4. Mix in flour and salt to form a dough.
  5. Roll out dough, cut shapes, and place on baking sheet.
  6. Bake for 10-12 minutes, cool, then dust with powdered sugar if desired.

Notes

Chill the dough if it becomes too soft for easier cutting.
