Ingredients
  

Dough
  • 250 g unsalted butter, softened
  • 125 g granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 egg yolk egg yolk
  • 500 g all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet.
  2. Cream butter and sugar until light, then add vanilla and egg yolk.
  3. Mix in flour and salt to form dough, chill for 30 minutes.
  4. Roll out dough, cut shapes, and place on baking sheet.
  5. Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are golden, then cool.
