Ingredients
  

Dough
  • 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 egg egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon almond extract
Decoration
  • to taste green food coloring
  • for decoration royal icing
  • for decoration sprinkles or edible decorations

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Mix dry ingredients; cream butter and sugar, then add egg and extracts.
  3. Add food coloring to dough, roll out, cut into tree shapes, and bake 8-10 minutes.
  4. Cool cookies completely, then decorate with royal icing and sprinkles.

Notes

Chill dough if too soft for easier cutting.
